Craft Technology Centre (CTA) has been invited by Totana CEARCAL (Regional Centre Craft Castilla y León) to participate in the First Iberian Meeting of Craft Centres, which will take place on 20 and 21 October in Valladolid, to present his or its business model, since it is the only research and innovation that developed the R + D + i for companies in the crafts sector in Spain.

In this international meeting, the CTA will show the activities that have developed over the last decade, creating the first national e-commerce dedicated to the craft, the Waste Management Study for Environmental Prevention, the Research Project on Antimicrobial Resistance Ice made the pottery companies of Totana and the Development of a UNE, which directly affects the local pottery workshops, a project being worked on currently.

The proliferation of Craft Centres in Spain and Portugal and their different management models have led to the suggestion to the organizers that could be of great interest to the industry and government with expertise in crafts, learn about different management models, programming and funding, as well as their experiences in order to create a meeting place and communication for the exchange of knowledge for the optimization of public resources for the development of crafts.

And for that, the goal is to bring together all the crafts center managers and institutional managers to optimize efforts and the creation of a Network of Craft Centres which serve to establish a fluid communication channel that allows all the information circular generated by these centers in Spain and Portugal, and eventually allowed to go to other countries including the European Union.

This meeting is part of the ongoing promotion of local crafts Technology Center has been doing, with attendance at various events, conferences and seminars that show innovation in research, work that develops from Totana.

We can not ignore that the Crafts Center will have an important role in addressing the new challenges facing the sector and are, among others, modernizing the management and use of new technologies, identifying new markets for the industry, continuing education, professional certifications, and all actions to recover the pulse of an activity, in addition to its cultural importance, is an important economic and commercial reality of our country.
