Campaign Sharpen your school supplies " (22/08/2008)

The Councillor for Education, Roque Molina Legaz, expressed his satisfaction with the good results obtained with the implementation during the 2007-08 school year of the campaign to collect materials "Sharpen your school supplies, which has achieved collect a total of 350 textbooks in addition to numerous school supplies.

This campaign, carried out by the Municipal Service of Prevention and Control of School Absenteeism during the previous school year, has had "very good and has met all expectations", as declared by the mayor.

It has also appreciated the donations carried out by libraries, shops in municipal and private citizens who "have proven to be sensitive and aware to the recycling of used materials and school education, while participating in promoting the values of solidarity to the more needy to demand this type of material, "he said.

During the past school year were collected, first, 350 textbooks for different educational levels published by several publishers, and other large school supplies like backpacks, pens, pencils, folders, calculators, cases, portablock, notebooks, staplers, compass, ...

In addition, booklets have been collected numerous spelling, mathematics, dictionaries, educational guides and textbooks.

The main objective of this campaign has been providing the town of Totana a bank of textbooks and school supplies to get the students as less economic resources, have the means necessary for their instruction, preventing it from producing, among other situations cases of truancy, according to Legaz Molina recalled.

Finally, Roque Molina has announced its intention to continue the campaign, which has received so well received, and will begin in October.
