Totana hosted the 2nd Day School Orienteering Championships in the Region of Murcia (18/01/2016)

The Directorate General of Sports in the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the Department of Sports City of Totana and the Club of Orientation in Nature of Totana held on Saturday January 16th at The Stables, the 2nd Regional Conference Guidance Sports School.

Despite the wind and cold early hours of the morning, the schools in the southern part of the region traveled to Totana for qualifying for the regional final orientation of school sport that takes place on Saturday February 27 at the Campus Espinardo, University of Murcia, which involved the participation of 270 boys and girls.

The school, in their respective categories (juvenile, infant, cadet and juvenile female and male) participated in the races proposed by the organization, as is usual in this type of testing where the promotion of physical activity is intended and sport at school age, they raised individual tours of between 2.5 and 4 kilometers, with only the help of map and compass, dynamic and affordable for smaller and more demanding for the elderly, where they found areas of career very quick to travel on roads and paths clean, with others in which you had to modulate the speed to break through the vegetation.

After the competition, the first 15 counselors in each category, as well as the four components that have punctuated the teams ranked first and second place will qualify for the Regional Final Guidance School Sports.
