The Local Government Board approves the implementation of the seventh program of Youth Correspondents for the school year 2015/16 (02/12/2015)

The Local Government Board has approved at its last session the implementation of the seventh program of Youth Correspondents for the school year 2015/2016 in the IES "Juan de la Cierva y Codorniu" and "Prado Mayor" of Totana.

The project received technical advice and supervision "Informajoven" of the Youth Council, in coordination with the IES, with the Department of Youth and the Directorate General of Quality Education and Vocational Training.

Thus, 4 students of the IES "Juan de la Cierva y Codorniu" and "Prado Mayor" are correspondents for the course 2015/2016, it will perform in the news Points of IES, developing a broad social and educational work and where young people can express what their concerns are and correspondent, channel their demands.

The work of Youth Correspondent begin with the Initial Formation Meeting, to be held in November, continuing during the course of several meetings held training and ending with the Final Evaluation Meeting, to be held at the end of course in the month of June 2016.

The program is coordinated by the Department of Youth, the Directorate General of Quality Education and Training, in collaboration with the Informajoven of the Youth Council of the City of Totana and the IES "Juan de la Cierva y Codorniu" and "Prado Mayor "Totana.

One of the priorities of the Youth Council of Totana is related to the access of young people to information.

Therefore, the implementation begins a new edition of Youth Correspondents, whose purpose is, first, inform and disseminate social, economic and cultural resources in the field of youth, are available in the field of Autonomous Community and, on the other hand, gather concerns and preferences of young people of the area in which it moves.

The youth correspondents are young students, who are primarily responsible for reporting all matters that may interest young people: entertainment and leisure, youth accommodation, scholarships and grants, studies, useful addresses, publications, youth card, etc., plus another primary function, which have is to identify, collect and convey the demands and needs of young people.

The program begins with the campaign "Wanted correspondent" in the IES, by the guardians of schools which have been designated for this program, in collaboration with the "Informajoven" and once selected these young people are committed to perform the functions of correspondents.

These include the transfer of the information gathered in the center where he performs his duties Correspondent and get it to the Youth information services, keep updated and ordered the media and other means (bulletin boards, newsletters, flyers, etc.) and to let the young, by claims that the information on these supports is for them.

In addition, you learn to cooperate in achieving the objectives of the program in which it participates, respect the internal rules of the centers in which it does business, and make transmission between the correspondent and the Directorate General responsible for Youth those cases whose special complexity can not attend personally.

They must also attend the coordination meetings that are convened, as well as training courses organized by the Directorate General Youth, maintain and meet in person youth information point for at least two hours a week (in date fixed hours) to answer queries from peers and work in direct contact with the coordinator of extracurricular activities of the school.

Correspondents are responsible for managing an information panel and attend Youth Information Point at school, during a break week and one hour in the afternoon to prepare materials on the IES or the "Informajoven" from the they attend the Tuenti correspondents.

All with the information and technical advice needed by the Municipal Youth Service.

The program began this past weekend with the Initial Formation Meeting held at the Youth Hostel of San Pedro del Pinatar.

In this part the young correspondents throughout the region and along with volunteers and facilitators, thoroughly knew what the program functions to develop, how to disseminate information, among others.

Besides recreational and leisure activities are included.

They were accompanied by the general director of Youth, Francisco Sanchez Lopez, who congratulated them on their participation in the program and also received the visit of the President of the Autonomous Community, Pedro Antonio Sanchez.
