Totana City Council will promote the establishment of the process of "participatory budgeting" by setting up citizen boards for neighborhoods and districts, as the cornerstone of collaboration and citizen participation, so that the neighbors become more involved in the action municipal government.

This was agreed unanimously at the last regular full plenary of the Municipal Corporation to Earn initiative Totana-IU group;

for what is going to be citizen boards for neighborhoods and districts.

Totana Town Council considers of utmost importance that citizens involved in the political life of the municipality and active part in decision-making that takes place from the public institution.

Thus, it is intended that the residents of Totana are participants and protagonists in decisions that are taken from the fields of political and social life, and that budgets represent the cornerstone.

To do so, it performs a process of knowledge of the state of municipal accounts by residents of the municipality, followed by a participatory process by which citizens gather the opinions and suggestions in order to assess each them and allocate these budgets for the purposes deemed most appropriate and that consensúen among the largest possible number of people.
