The Civil Guard uncovers a plot criminal scams related to a construction company continued Totana (08/09/2015)

The head of the construction workshops and four workers at a car parts company appear related to the handling and 'fattening' of invoices for profit

It is estimated that these criminal practices have developed in the last decade and that the amount defrauded would be around 700,000 euros

The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia has developed the operation 'KARTOSA' research aimed at establishing a continuing offense of fraud to a construction company in Totana, which has resulted in the arrest of five people on suspicion of offenses of fraud and falsification of public documents.

It is estimated that the value of the swindled be around 700,000 euros.

The investigation began when a construction company complained to the Civil Guard the alleged scam was a victim.

Apparently, those responsible for the construction had observed certain anomalies in the purchase of spare parts for its fleet of about 120 vehicles cars.

In some cases pieces appeared the references and names were altered in others parts that were never served and even nonexistent products.

With this initial information, the Civil Guard initiated the investigation in order to identify those who were behind these crimes, which led researchers to know that orders were made from the workshop of the company to another entity impaired based Totana, where supposedly the parts were purchased.

The study of the documentation relating to these business transactions found that, since 2006, the workshop manager of the injured company maintained a business relationship for the purchase of these products, with an establishment of spare parts, and bills charged to the construction or did not match the actual product, or were never delivered and even appeared related parts that do not correspond to the vehicle to which they were intended.

Given the evidence that this was an ongoing criminal practice, the Meritorious identified those involved in this network and managed to find out that the workshop manager and administrator of the company through the latter parts of their business, were after the alleged scams in which two parties, in collusion, profited from the sale of consumables.

The complainant company provided documentation Expertise of vehicles repaired, which showed that, in any of the cases investigated were never change the original parts and other parts of high economic cost fraudulently billed.

It is estimated that the value of the swindled be around 700,000 euros.

A fleet of over 100 vehicles renewed

The Civil Guard has uncovered a criminal network that detainees had now established through the trade link of a construction company and other sales of spare parts for cars.

On the one hand, an employee of the construction company in charge of the machine shop spare parts acquired for consumption, which were charged to the company by invoices 'fattened' other supplies;

and on the other parts the company profited from such sales.

Research shows that these transactions were hidden by the now detained by irregular invoicing by increasing the price of supplies, that a case would be around 60% increase, or the issuance of bills of products that were never sold.

These irregular operations led the company to change damaged part of the fleet of vehicles, to determine which were not profitable in view of the maintenance costs, representing a financial investment, a priori, unnecessary.

Operation 'KARTOSA' has culminated in five Spaniards arrested, aged between 32 and 57 years, and residents of Lorca and Totana to which are attributed the alleged author of the crime of fraud and falsification of public documents.

Those arrested, the documentation obtained and the proceedings initiated have been made available to the Magistrate's Court in Totana (Murcia).
