A total of 103 families with 138 minors have benefited from summer schools within the program "Totana Verano'2015" (15/08/2015)

A total of 103 families with 138 children aged between 3 and 12 years, have benefited from the "Holidays 3.0" program, popularly known as summer schools, developing the Youth Council of the City of Totana, in collaboration with the Collective for Social Promotion "The Candle".

This is a resource whose objective is to offer families an alternative to reconciling work and family life during holiday periods.

In addition it is also conceived as a tool to support families with children in socially vulnerable, offering a socio space learning habits and skills to kids, in an environment standards, thus tending to integration from a plane full equality opportunities.

New this year, the "Holidays 3.0" program has also worked during holiday periods of Christmas and Easter, in addition to the summer holidays have extended the period of the activity, beginning on June 24 and ending on 15 of August.

Particular have been 56 children participating in the June days, 100 children during the first half of July, 93 in the second half of July and 35 in August, surpassing the number of participants from previous years.

This activity takes place in two schools in Totana, schools "Santiago" and "Tierno Galvan" from Monday to Friday from 9-14 hours.

Within this time the kids develop different activities: school review, English workshop, creative workshops, educational game, sports, etc.

We have also made 3 trips to the swimming pool, several water parties and a final farewell party.

Also worth noting that this year the participating families have valued very positively expanding the resource, initiating activities in the month of June.

They have also highlighted many of the parents who are satisfied with the work done by the technical team and the kids have fun while they learn.

Finally, also positively they assessed that part of the fee is subsidized by the city of Totana, which makes this more affordable resource and also becomes a measure of support to families.
