EVA-13 delivery AELIP D'Genes and 2,558 euros raised in the Dragon Challenge race (09/08/2015)

The Mayor of Totana, Juan José Canovas, presided over the ceremony made ​​by the head of the Air Surveillance Squadron EVA-13, Ricardo Acebal, from the collection of the commander Race Dragon Challenge "Memorial Lieutenant Juan Carlos Pérez Calleja" to the Association of Rare Diseases D'Genes and the Association of Relatives and Affected Lipodystrophies (AELIP).

The commander of the Air Surveillance Squadron No. 13 has been delivered to members of both associations of 2,558 euros for the money raised in this sporting event held last June 14 in forest paths of the Regional Park of Sierra Espuña.

The event took place on Friday 07 July in the hall of Totana Town Council and has been attended also the first deputy mayor, Andrés García;

Communications Director of the Athletics Federation of Murcia, Adrian Bonache;

D'Genes president, Juan Carrion;

AELIP president, Naca Perez de Tudela;

and senior representatives of both associations.

The test, in solidarity with rare diseases, was organized by the EVA-based 13 Air Quartering the Morrón de Espuña and the Athletics Federation of Murcia and with the collaboration of the towns of Totana and Alhama de Murcia.

The race, which was attended by about three hundred athletes in total, had two modes, the "Mini Dragon Challenge" for a distance of approximately 15,550 meters and finishing at the Visitor Center Ricardo Codorniu, and the "Dragon Challenge", with an approximate distance of 31,600 meters and end at the barracks Air Surveillance Squadron No. 13 in Sierra Espuña.

The representative of the Athletics Federation of Murcia has indicated that it has been a luxury to work in a sporting event such and also jointly and severally pointed sure that this test will become a classic in mid-summer.

Acebal commander stressed that the test was four goals they had set: to promote sport, participate in activities that promote social values ​​including solidarity, to publicize the work of the armed forces and pay tribute to deceased partner that gave name to the test.

Representatives of both associations thanked the organizers of the sporting event in solidarity because this type of action, and allow fundraising to improve the quality of life of people affected by rare diseases, serve to bring visibility and society reality and needs of people with rare diseases.
