DeTotana City Council has completed work on improving accessibility and repainting of pedestrian fords under the project funded by the Commonwealth of Tourist Services of Sierra Espuña, which had a total of 76,969.37 euros, according to sources of the Department of tourism.
The project called "Creating accessible routes in the region of Sierra Espuña" has allowed the configuration of an accessible route in the historic centers of each of the municipalities involved in this entity through concrete actions.
With the creation of the route the elimination of architectural barriers for all people, especially those with disabilities is intended, to visit the historic centers of the municipalities that make up this tourist region.
The Commonwealth Tourism Services Espuña consists of the towns of Aledo, Alhamade Murcia, Mula, Pliego yTotana.
The route develops deTotanase the Constitution Square, streets General Aznar, Sister Josefa, Puentecico Avenue Rambla de la Santa, municipal park "Marcos Ortiz" Street Bridge and Plaza Balsa Vieja;
which is where these works have been undertaken.
This is financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Local Development, for the period 2012/13;
and it includes implementation of flush curbs, repainting of pedestrian and compacting the pavement in some sections of these roads fords.
After completion, it has placed a start signaling path and indicators that inform the visitor of the same in order to enable people with disabilities to enjoy some of the most emblematic monuments deTotana historic center.
