Students from 3rd of ESO College "Reina Sofía" held a youth full (13/02/2015)

Students from two courses of 3 of the ESO's "Reina Sofia" School today celebrated a youth full in the Chamber of the City of Totana as a culmination to the development and study of the teaching unit of the subject of Social Sciences entitled "Political parties by Totana".

The meeting was chaired by the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, and the participation of seven local groups formed by the students and an agenda with a total of 10 points on which students have been working on that subject during recent weeks, with the help of their teachers.

Students have worked in this time the powers and functions of state functions, political participation, democratic societies and functioning, as well as its fundamental values ​​and bases;

for which they have developed a theoretical and practical project have staged several sessions and culminating with the celebration of the city.

Students have developed their own political parties (names, acronyms and corresponding logos), have developed their electoral programs with concrete, real proposals;

They have designed their campaign posters and slogans;

while his rallies have been made to explain the proposals with persuasive formats.

After an election, a corporation was formed with seven political parties: Valam (Local Academic Volunteers Murcianos Current) that made the functions of local government;

and opposition groups that are JDT (Democratic Youth of Totana);

UPT (Union for Progressive Totana), PJT (totanero Youth Party), FET (Student Front totanero), PIJ (Youth Party of Innovation) and APT (Totanera People's Alliance).

Spokesmen for the various municipal groups, with great temperance, have defended their proposals during the plenary debate in which there have been seven motions and amendments addition.

The agenda of full gathered motions to the launch of a new tourist service that targets the dissemination of the heritage of our town (Valam), joining the school calendar of the "Youth Week" (JDT) and creating a network of bike lanes (UPT).

Furthermore, motions on rehabilitation and operation of Performing Arts Hall "Cine Velasco" (PJT), the use of closed or while stranded in Totana (FET), improvement of library materials treated municipal libraries and opening and closing them (PIJ) and creation of a public transport service that improves movement in the municipality (APT).

At the turn of "AOB", students have requested that local groups of Totana study and analyze their proposals in order to see first hand the concerns of young people in Totana;

and the option to include some of them in their electoral programs so that they can be brought to reality if they get the support of citizenship is considered.

The mayor congratulated the faculty and students for their initiative and education center that again demonstrate its "innovative and entrepreneurial spirit" in pedagogical initiatives like this and advocated incorporating their proposals for future political programs.

In addition, Sanchez Ruiz said the students, with their contributions, attitudes and suggestions, are a reference for the future that ennobles public practice;

and launched a message in defense of public life as a work of trustworthiness, honesty and work to the public service of citizens.
