Representatives and COATO COAG ask the Ministry of Agriculture to accept and comply with what is asked for 100% of the sector (21/11/2014)

About seventy representatives and officials of Lower Guadalentin COAG and cooperative COATO concentrated this morning between 10 and 14 hours, first on the outside, and then in the lobby of the building of the Ministry of Agriculture, to express opposition to the approval of the Order of aid to drought in the terms proposed by the Ministry to Caropa (Regional Advisory Board of Professional Agricultural Organisations);

which is composed of the three Agricultural Organisations (BDA, COAG and UPA) and all Directors of the Council, and chaired by the Minister of Agriculture or the Secretary General of the Department or person to whom the Minister designates.

At the start of the session Caropa has been a major stress concentrates to pretend that the meeting or participate in it was interrupted.

Given the refusal of officials of the Ministry to suspend the meeting and representatives of the OPA to miss it, there have been moments of great stress, in which several of the concentrates have sought access to the place of meeting, while there have been whistling and shouting requesting adjournment thereof.

Apparently Caropa approved with the vote against three OPAS, the text of the Order of the drought, which did not contain virtually any application deadline changes, aid and other petitions requested unanimously by Agricultural Organizations and Cooperatives of the Region.

The Caropa also seems to have approved the draft Order which empowers the Council to suspend and replace the boards of the regional regulatory boards, as is the case when the Pimentón- not follow the instructions Counseling.

The concentrates have deployed a first banner with the slogan: "Counselor: we support, not handouts"

In later joined another: "Sausages Murcia Chinese pepper," alluding to the fact that around 97% of paprika from Murcia sold comes from imports and overwhelmingly Chinese.

Concentrates also wore stickers with text like: "Drought: fulfill the promises or dimitid";

"Counselor: organic farming going to be the gravedigger";

"Drought and PDR: Accept 100% what the industry calls you";

"Paprika from Murcia sold in 2013: 3% occurred in the region, 97% imported (a majority of China)";

"Counselor: Desalination of tailings 600 million farms in Natura 2000: 0.5 million."

Because concentrates representatives COAG and COATO -the cooperative with more partners and agricultural area of the region, including the one with ¼ of the surface area of Murcia almond besides disagreeing with aid to drought, have shown their protest that has been lowered to around three quarters of the budget for organic farming for the period 2014-2020 compared with 2007-2013.

While protests have expressed that, despite numerous promises to landowners within Natura 2000 Natural Areas Network (SCI, SPA, parks, etc.) - The budget of the Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014-2020, only provides a symbolic departure for farms in this region, representing 25% of the area of the region.

Finally concentrates have left the Department at 14 h., After being informed by the Regional Secretary of Agriculture COAG, Pedro Garcia, of what was discussed at the meeting of Caropa, and disposition of COAG to find an urgent solution to severe in next week for all or most of the organizations, with the President of the Autonomous Community, before it leaves nothing to the Bulletin.

Or, if necessary, to celebrate an act of more massive and forceful protest.
