The three municipal groups approved a joint motion to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (20/10/2014)

The three municipal groups that make up the full City Council approved a joint motion Totana to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which falls on November 25.

This apparent gender violence and condemns the population totanera remember that violence against women is a social evil which requires the ongoing commitment of the entire civil society, government and institutions, with actions that involve changes in educational and cultural patterns that promote respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.

In order to assist the three municipal groups, as stated the proposal, in collaboration with the Department of Women and Equal Opportunities as a body charged with developing policies for equal opportunities in the town of Totana, is carrying out actions in coordination with the Directorate General of Social Policy towards raising public awareness about this social evil and develop a culture of prevention of gender violence as a means to eradicate it.
