Approved to participate in a call for grant to present a draft bilateral youth exchanges of Totana and Rome (05/05/2014)

The Local Government Board has approved the participation of the City of Totana in a call for funding under the European program "Erasmus +" for the submission of draft bilateral youth exchanges of Totana (Spain) and youth of Rome (Italy) .

The request and the project will be presented by the Italian partners through the Italian National Agency for the application is must present only one of the two entities and always be the host country, in this case, the meeting is scheduled to take place in Rome in October 2014.

The InformaJoven Service Youth Council participated for several years in the Youth Program Correspondents Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.

As a result of their participation in this program has a group of correspondents who participated in 2013 in a Youth Initiative funded through the European program "Youth in Action";

so that, at present, this group of correspondents are highly motivated to work with young Europeans.

Juveniles Totana correspondents participated during the 2011/2012 school year in the "Youth agregate your correspondent" project, in which the subject worked Insurance Internet, intergenerational digital divide and digital family entertainment.

After completing this project in May 2012, correspondents conducted a series of evaluation meetings, revealing his interest in continuing to work the above mentioned subject.

Hence arose a national youth initiative funded through the Youth in Action Programme, and under the title "Help, I wanna be digital" has developed over the months of January to April 2013 in Totana.

This initiative arose to demand youth correspondents IES "Prado Mayor" and "Juan de la Cierva and Codorníu".

The theme of the initiative has been the safe navigation of minors on the Internet and the proper use of social networks.

The overall objective has been to promote the protection of minors in the use of ICT (Information and Communication) and train parents to reduce intergenerational digital divide.

Specific objectives have been to inform and raise awareness of Internet applications and social networking tools and to identify and meet protection.

15 youth participated in this initiative Totana.

This program has been made known to all youth correspondents of Murcia as well as other regions that managed a similar program correspondents.

This has had the collaboration of the Directorate General of Youth in the Region of Murcia.

In the final evaluation of the project indicated youth and expressed interest in performing a youth exchange to enable them to continue this project and target the interests on these issues with other young Europeans.

Upon contact with an Italian company called "Cooperativa Sociale him Mille e una notte", with which we have worked previous years, together with other organizations from different European countries, making several meetings of technical and youth exchanges, they have expressed interest in know the work being done by our youth as youth correspondents and experience on the subject of good use of Internet and digital entertainment have been carried out through the project "Help, I want to be digital."

Through the European "ERASMUS +" program, recently created, it opens the possibility of a draft bilateral youth exchanges between the two countries, whose theme would focus on knowing the working model of youth correspondents Totana, in a responsible and safe Internet Network as a tool for information to use youth population is.

Moreover, the issue of cyberbullying is working in the field of youth information, understood as a risk on which children can inform and educate.

Work on this issue in the context of a youth exchange brings an intercultural dimension.

The basic objectives of the exchange are to reflect on the role of youth correspondents as a model and tool for juvenile institutions: the young reporter and dynamic as your space and lay the foundations of a healthy digital communication.

Educating through the Information Technology and Communication.

The project aims to develop a social conscience minors to the problem of cyberbullying: why it happens, what to do, where to get help and work on conflict resolution, development of skills and critical thinking;

contextualize and cyberbullying in Europe, work it with the youth of the two European countries.
