City officials today supported the initiative promoted by the local board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, on the occasion of breast cancer, which has launched an awareness campaign and information on this enfermedad.Este year, the goal is inform women over 40 years on the most relevant aspects of breast cancer.
The campaign highlights the high incidence of breast cancer among women: one in 8 women will develop breast cancer over their lifetime.
However, the breast cancer survival has improved markedly in recent years.
Regular mammograms and treatments allow advance cure rates of 90%.
So the campaign features a woman breast cancer survivor who casts a positive message to other women about overcoming the disease: "I have overcome breast cancer."
The Local Juan has installed a display, coinciding with the weekly market and the World Day to be held next Saturday, October 19, in which they provided information on breast cancer and its prevention, early diagnosis and treatment, and funds research on this type of tumor.
The event has been the president of the local board of the AECC, Pedro Marin Ayala, board members and volunteers.
