On Saturday October 5 would rank totanero historic Triathlon, considering that Cuesta Francisco Valenzuela, Kisko, successfully completed one of the toughest tests to which an athlete may face an Ironman, the IBERMAN LA LD LIGHT.
The test, consisting of a first sector of open water swimming 3.8 kilometers, a second sector 180km bike and the last and most feared sector, foot race a marathon, 42.1 miles, was developed in the province of Huelva and southern Portugal, starting and finishing on the beach Huelva La Antilla.
The nearly 800 athletes who took part began about 8:15 am in the morning with the swim, with the added difficulty of the cold water temperature.
In 1 hour and 18 minutes ended Kisko this stretch.
The bike sector led participants to travel throughout the province of Huelva, with initial layout pretty hard, with ups and downs and with a high temperature in the final stretch.
Kisko finished this stretch about 7 hours and then began the final transition to the marathon, a grueling journey, especially the last ten miles where asphalt sections alternated with beach sand where the feet were fixed and prevented a normal pace .
To all these difficulties and the fact carry more than twelve hours of effort during the last miles of the marathon Kisko suffered from an injury, which made him have to fall much race pace, but did not prevent him crowned IRONMAN, reaching the finish in a spectacular time of 13h and 16 minutes.
After many months of training, a lot of suffering and a superhuman effort during the race, was crowned Ironman Kisko, enjoying throughout the test and savoring the success on a personal level for completing such a tough challenge, because here not fighting the clock, but against yourself.
