Successful completion program youth correspondents (13/08/2013)

The Youth Council reports that it has recently successfully completed the program of youth correspondents, in which two young students have participated in the IES "Prado Mayor" and three of IES "Juan de la Cierva" of Totana.

The work has been developed during the past school year under the coordination of "Informajoven", the mentors teachers of these centers and the Ministry of the Presidency, with the support of the Directorate General of Educational Planning and Management.

This is an action whose purpose is to inform and spread the social, economic and cultural, on Youth, are available in the area of ​​our region.

Another aim is to collect concerns and preferences of young people in the field in which they move.

It is done in collaboration with the Directorate General for the Prevention of Violence Against Women, Youth, Legal Protection and Juvenile Court.

The youth correspondents are young students, who are primarily responsible for reporting all matters which may interest the young: leisure and recreation, youth accommodation, grants and scholarships, studies, useful addresses, publications, youth card, etc..

They also deal with managing a panel and attend Youth Information Point during recess and disseminate information using social media as "Myspace" and "Twiter".

Another primary function, they have is to detect, collect and transmit the demands and needs of young people.

His stage work are schools, understanding them as privileged places for meeting, learning and leisure of young people, in which you can develop a comprehensive educational work and where young people can express their concerns and what the correspondent channel their demands.

To perform its functions, the General Directorate for the Prevention of Violence Against Women, Youth, Legal Protection and Juvenile Court offered throughout the course various training workshops.

Among these highlighted this year the course 'Correspondents youth exchange in Europe', an initiative that aims to promote active participation in community life regional, national and community through exchanges with other European Union countries.

This year, as new, the correspondents have led, together with 12 young again, a non-formal educational experience called Socorro, want to be digital!, A Youth Initiative of Youth in Action Programme and through which they have promoted the appropriate use of information technologies and have launched a School of Trainers that focuses on adult education in new technologies, and especially in social networks

The next school year 2013/14 will continue to work information egalitarian relationships and strengthen information and prevention work around the use of the Internet and social networks, in partnership with the National Center Protégeles and Internet Security, as the same sources of the Department.
