The new treatment plant remaining fraction of household waste is placed in Lorca and represents an investment of 3.6 million euros from the Regional Government.

The treatment plant Waste Management Centre will improve waste segregation and wide and streamlines the process of recycling the Centre.

Also, after this improvement will proceed with the second phase for the treatment and selection of light packaging.

This new line of treatment of garbage collection containers mass will triple the capacity of the plant up to 30 tons per hour.

This means drastically reducing the amount of material destined to landfill.

Specifically investment has led to the creation of the new line of treatment of urban waste remaining fraction, the ship running treatment and the creation of a reception hall for covering the pit power of this new line.

The new process will begin with the movement of waste to the reception pit.

Hence be charged with a shovel until the metal slats feeder conveyor downloaded where operators perform triage to select manually bulky materials that could interfere with the process as well as scrap metal, cardboard and glass.

Subsequently, the waste discharge conveyor in the trommel to separate waste into two fractions.

The fine fraction will consist in a large percentage for organic waste is transformed into compost.

Meanwhile, the larger fraction subjected to a secondary triage resulting collection is then compressed and stored.

Among the benefits of the new structure, stresses that will extend the life of the discharge vessel, as will reach the same 20% of untreated material, compared to 60% of that reached so far.

By tripling the capacity of treatment, the resulting compost will be higher quality by eliminating the presence of glass and metal.

Also significantly increase the recovery of materials such as steel, cardboard, plastic containers or bricks, as well as the recovery of other elements which until now could not be recovered.

It also improves the quality, safety and hygiene jobs, enabling further expansion of human resources selection tasks.
