Councilman of Agriculture and Water, Diego Munoz, recalled that the deadline to access the call for aid for the installation of young farmers and farm modernization worth 35.405 million euros, financed by 75 percent by the European Union, is open until 29 September.
Councilman of Agriculture has indicated that this type of aid is to increase competitiveness, create jobs, generate wealth, improve product quality and increase exports.
In this sense, Muñoz explained that the goals of modernization can be achieved for a grant up to € 300,000 per farm if the owner is a natural person and if cooperative society or multiplying this amount by the number of members to a maximum of four .
In case of intensive farming and horticulture can obtain the maximum investment aid for a maximum investment of € 420,000 per farm.
The number of farm improvement plans and beneficiary shall be limited to three.
The aid goes to 40% of the investment, increasing to 50% if done in disadvantaged areas.
For initial installation, only single premium up to a maximum of € 35,000 per facility will be increased by 2,500 euros if the farm is located in disadvantaged areas.
The councilman explained that for the recovery of aid granted, the beneficiary shall submit a single application for payment until September 15 of the year for which the grant was awarded.
The payment of aid shall be made once made and justified eligible activities.
It has also indicated that the requirements to be a beneficiary of the aid for modernization are being holder of a farm located at 50% of its area in the Region of Murcia, have registered and updated its exploitation in the Register of farms in the Region of Murcia, and present a plan to improve its operation.
In addition, the requirements to be a beneficiary of the first installation aids are: be 18 years old and under 40 years; installed first as professional farmer, owning at the time of your request adequate training; submit a business plan , and not be or have held a farm.
Thus, in this period, according to sources from the Ministry of Agriculture in the Region of Murcia is expected to include 300 youth, modernize 500 farms generate 800 direct jobs and 2,200 indirect, improve irrigation 1,000 hectares, build and modernize 500,000 square meters of greenhouses, purchase an additional 100 tractors and machinery, upgrading 100 hectares of citrus fruit and perform 50 new varieties and farm buildings for farm improvement.
