The Department of Social Welfare and Citizenship reports that it has entered into force amending the Municipal Ordinance regulating the parking card for people with disabilities in the end of Totana, which currently enjoyed by some 300 local residents.

So far in 2012, have issued a total of 54 cards in total parking and are in force as of today a total of 291.

On July 10 was published in the announcement BORM amendment of this bylaw in order to promote the autonomy and ability to move people with disabilities and to adapt to local regulations governing this matter rest.

The parking card is a service that is given to disabled people with serious mobility problems to facilitate their access, equal to the spaces and services in your environment.

To be able to give this card, the applicant must meet, without fail, each and every one of these conditions: they must have recognized at least 7 points according to the Schedule to determine the existence of difficulties in using public transport, which have a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 33% and be registered in the municipality of Totana.

In addition, holders of a parking card for people with mobility problems have the following rights in the municipality of Totana:

a) Parking in area reserved for disabled persons: up to 2 hours

b) Blue Zone: If you pay the bill for 1 hour you can spend all day, otherwise it may be the time specified on the receipt.

c) Access to pedestrian areas, shopping precincts and artistic or monumental, restricted usually to vehicular traffic, provided that the destination is within the area and not detrimental to pedestrians and traffic returned to normal.

d) Parking in the loading and unloading areas during hours of operation, up to 20 minutes.

e) Use the card when the person with reduced mobility traveling in any vehicle.

f) Any other benefits in terms of traffic or parking could be established for people with reduced mobility, by the competent authority.
