The Plenum of the City of Totana made ​​yesterday institutional recognition to the lords of the eight councils headman totanera and the president and members of the neighborhood of El Paretón for the work of municipal management support and a channel for citizen participation during the 2007/2011 term.
The event was held during the regular session for the month of September, in which the motion unanimously approved the Mayor to thank and acknowledge the work done as transmitters of the needs of the residents in the districts to the Administration local.
The mayor presented a diploma to each neighborhood representatives, and other gifts institutional protocol, while spokesmen for the three municipal groups appreciated the selfless work they developed during the previous mandate.
Municipal officials stressed the role that this figure has been doing to enhance participatory democracy in Totana, as a tool for the establishment of channels that allows citizens to engage in the management of different municipal areas.
The honorees are mayors, headman Pascual Diego Sanchez (La Sierra), Julián Muñoz López (El Raiguero), Rosa Tudela Canovas (Viñas-Carivete), Esperanza Martínez Meseguer (The Coast), Concepción González Blázquez (Lebor), Carmen Tapia Gómez ( La Huerta), Miguel Martinez Vas (Morti) and Thomas Walls Vilar (The Paretón).
Similarly, the members received this recognition of the neighborhood of El Paretón: Juana Vanessa Martinez, Antonia Tudela Serrano, Gilberto José Francisco Heredia, Francisco Pedro García Cánovas, Fabián Acosta Legaz, Gines Canovas Serrano, Pedro Jesús Vera and Catherine Serrano Canovas Mulero, respectively.
Totana City Council has the headman Board as a body of citizen participation in the area of ​​the districts, and the Board's Local Neighborhood Paretón, a body composed of local participatory village headman and eight members elected by list system open.
