Culture activity begins tomorrow "The Book Traveler" (25/04/2011)

The Department of Culture begins tomorrow the initiative "The Book Traveler" on the occasion of World Book Day, through which it aims to create a chain of reading among the residents of Totana which can pick up and deposit books in public spaces locality.

The councilman of Culture, Esther Esparza, explained that this activity, which is a variant of Bookcrossing, is to leave books in public places so that other people find them, read them and re-deposited in a different location.

When a person finds the book traveler, be inside a bag in which you can enter a book if you want to participate in this initiative, increased the number of travel books.

You can find a brochure explaining the steps to follow, as long as you can have the book, readers' comments and recommendations on where to deposit again.

The initiative is realized with the implementation of 30 books travelers will hit the streets of the municipality and deposited in different places (schools, main plazas, etc ...) with the collaboration of all these books came to meet travelers new readers who enjoy stories, teachings and, in general, everything related to literacy.

The books are aimed at all ages, and try different themes from children's literature, novels, history of Totana, among other topics.

At year end, as indicated by the mayor of the municipal area, they make an end date for the trip and seeing the route and the adventures they have lived every one of them, and as a recount of all the books that have joined this trip started from the Municipal Library.

From the Department of Culture Totana City Council encourages all to participate in this funny and original initiative to share books with others.

The mayor of Culture has stated that the Book Traveler is a variant of BookCrossing, a unique way to share our books anonymously for others to read and, again, to share in an endless chain with the aim of expanding written culture all in an easy and fun.
