Great Race activity Totana Christmas Athletics Club (28/12/2010)

The last two weeks of the year there are more active than the Athletics Club athletes Totana, being present in up to six races.

Thus began the last afternoon of December 24 that as is tradition in recent years, several athletes JPC moved to the town of Fuente Alamo to take part in the ninth edition of its Career Turkey.

In it took part Eusebio Martinez, Pedro Redondo, Juanfra Martínez, Fran Norths, Agustin Carrasco, Félix García, Edu and Antonio Lucas.

On a city tour around the 5 km, with corresponding 5 laps and a pretty cool afternoon, at 16:30 was the start of the race which attracted a good number of participants.

Continuing with the presence of yellow tide racing season, the next day, at night a good representation of 25 moved to the Alicante town of Orihuela to take part in the Night III Urban Cross "Ciudad de Orihuela" test was a total distance of 6.5 kilometers, where the route was done to two loops starting at the Town Hall of Orihuela and goal on the Esplanade of the Seminar, ending with a very hilly rise some 800 meters away to reach the diocesan seminary San Miguel.

A little after 21h was output to more than 400 athletes, many of them dressed, prepared to burn off some of the previous night's dinner.

Regarding the role of athletes in the JCP, the first to reach the top of the seminar was Tom Lucas, who is still going strong after Castellón marathon, finishing in a time of 26:24 and is ranked 65 overall.

Eusebio Martinez arrived soon after, in 26:35 and position 70 overall.

It was followed by Pedro A.

Redondo, who stopped the clock in 26:59 and 76th place overall.

Juanfra Martinez finished in a time of 28:34, followed Pepe Martinez finished the test in a time of 29:08 and 129 of the general position.

José Sáez completed the course in 33:18 and placed 262 overall.

Felix Garcia finished in 43:48.

Sunday, 26 also attended the Club totanero in a new edition, and now they're 29, of San Silvestre de Cartagena, evidence he took part more than 1200 athletes and where the athlete's Club Fulgencio Garcia moved up to third drawer in category.

A port city peers moved Gerardo Medina, Fulgencio Garcia, Eusebio Martinez and brothers Eduardo and Antonio Lucas.

From 11 am testing began at lower levels to reach the absolute, which had a 5-kilometer run entirely by the central city streets of Cartagena.

The performance of the athletes in the PCB was very good, being first across the finish Edu, with a time of 20:28, ranking 55 overall.

Fulgencio entered followed four seconds later, finishing third in Veterans D.

After Eusebio they stopped the clock in 20:53.

Shortly after crossing the finish Gerardo, with a time of 21:12 and Antonio finished in 21:38.

To close the presence of Totana Athletics Club athletes tested over these last Christmas, the morning of Sunday 26 also had presence of yellow tide in the mountains of Puerto Lumbreras, to take part in the First Rise to the Sima del Cabezo Jara, on the one hand Simon Martinez in the walker mode, Diego M.

Redondo, Pepe Saez, Nacho Campos and Juan Francisco Garcia, father and son in the mountain race, represented the Club.

While out at 9am hikers and bicyclists at 12 am, at 10:30 h was kicked off the mountain race, in a fairly cool morning but no wind, which made the wind chill was not so low.

Around fifty athletes were those who took part in the event that from the outset was developed with a strong race pace.

The first 10 miles of the trail were developed through gully areas and roads, ramps continued rise but not too hard, but it was over 450 meters to almost 900 meters.

From there is where the really tough beginning of the trial, and entered into mountains and steep ramps of nearly 18% for almost three miles, ending in the 1100 meters.

Regarding time, without officers, Nacho ended around 1h: 15min., Followed by Pedro and Pepe Martinez, who crossed the finish around a minute later.

Behind them was Juan Fco García García, followed by his son Juan and Pepe Fco García Pérez Sáez.
