Fourth International Baccalaureate promotion Secondary School "Juan de la Cierva" (23/12/2010)

The deputy director general of Educational Development, Inmaculada Moreno, the vice chancellor of University Extension UMU, Guillermo Diaz, the councilman of Education of the City of Totana, Trini Cayuela, and the institute's director, José Manuel Martínez, have presented the diplomas and certificates of the third quarter International Baccalaureate Secondary School "Juan de la Cierva", composed of 15 students.

These students completed these studies last year and seven of them have also received a diploma, enabling them to continue their studies in any European university.

The ceremony was held at the auditorium of the IES "Juan de la Cierva y Codorniu", has also benefited from the presence of this high school teacher, responsible for corporate sponsors, family and friends of the graduates.

This center has been the first in the Region of Murcia in providing this high school, which he has joined the IES Alfonso X the Wise of the capital, which are the only ones that provide this type of education throughout the region.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a comprehensive training plan with a curriculum of two years proposed by the International Baccalaureate Oragnization, held parallel and in conjunction with two courses of the regular school Spanish curriculum.

Students who have completed high school can achieve this dual degree as they meet the objectives of the national curriculum to better prepare them to access the Spanish university, while acquiring an adequate preparation for the exam proposed by the IBO and get the diploma, that will open the doors of foreign universities.

The Councillor for Education gave congratulations to the educational community in the fourth stage IB, recalled that through the involvement of all groups, including City Hall, can be carried out this great project that allows students to deepen more so in the knowledge.
