Secure shopping Campaign (17/12/2010)

More than thirty Police Local de Totana will participate in the campaign "Safe Shopping" which will increase surveillance in the streets with the greatest concentration of shops on the occasion of Christmas shopping, and runs until Three Kings Day with to improve safety and traffic control in most commercial areas of the city.

The initiative is being held for the eighth consecutive year and put in place jointly by the Department of Public Safety and Commerce and the collaboration of the Association of Traders of the town coincided with the holiday shopping season.

The councilors of Commerce, María Isabel Sánchez Ruíz, and Public Safety, Roque Molina, accompanied by the deputy inspector of the local police, Emilio Argüeso, and the president of the Retailers Association of Totana, Francisco Andreo, presented this campaign, the device is in operation since last Monday.

The Councillor for Citizen Security officials explained that reinforce neighborhood policing in trading hours from 10:00 hours to 14:00 hours and 16:30 hours to 21:30 hours in four specific areas in which further concentrates business.

Agents also offer preventive advice and information to owners of commercial establishments in the area of security.

The areas that will increase the work of monitoring and reporting by the agents are commercial establishments in the neighborhood of El Parral, Avenida Rambla de La Santa, in the Plaza of the Constitution, and Lorca Avenue and The Ceramic.

For three weeks, thirty agents ensure safe shopping, so that the customer and the merchant will feel more comfortable when making their purchases.

In addition, the mayor appealed to the public awareness of the residents that during these days will work with local police to be sympathetic to the road and as far as possible, and to watch out for objects that can be subtracted vehicles.

In this way, said Molina, the local police officer becomes a key and essential tool to ensure the safety of traders and customers and also satisfy one of the goals of bringing the figure of the police officers to traders and users.

For its part, the mayor of Commerce, María Isabel Sánchez Ruíz, said the success of this initiative has had in recent years and explained that this is a joint action with the Merchants Association, and coordinated to improve the safety of the owners of establishments and users in the main shopping streets of Totana.

In addition, the president of the association welcomed the initiative to the City and reported that the device is made according to the recommendations and requirements given by industry professionals, thanks to this campaign creates a more secure area of establishments municipality.
