More than a hundred totaneros participate in the first meeting "Totaneros the world" (11/12/2010)

More than a hundred people who live outside the town of Totana, both in Spain and in different provinces of France, has been reunited in their hometown by organizing the "Meeting between totaneros" which has been organized by the City framed the festivities in honor of Santa Eulalia.

More than thirty people in Madrid, Valencia, Andalusia, Catalonia, Murcia and French cities, like Lyon, Marseille, Narbonne, Paris and elsewhere have participated in all the activities that have come out during all day.

Among the events have highlighted the popular chocolate, which was held at the Municipal Center for the Elderly, the institutional reception by local authorities, and guided tours to attractions such as the parish of St. James the Greater and Santiago remodeled Tower, the Field Argárica of La Bastida, and the Sanctuary of Santa Eulalia.

It has also held a food twinning which totaneros, both currently residing in the municipality, as the newcomers to this game, have enjoyed the popular music of the labor group "Friends of the Habanera "and" Songs and Dances of the City of Totana.

A corporate reception attended by municipal authorities in the twin city of Uchaud, Totana twinned with the last two years, plus members of the government team and the President of the Foundation La Santa and pastor of St. James, Antonio Salvador Perez.

During this, the mayor totanero, José Martínez Andreo, has welcomed all the participants in this event with which communication has been maintained for three years on this project promoted by the Mayor.

With this activity, as explained by the first mayor, ties tend to totaneros residents outside the municipality and links to dialogue with those who remember what the town when they left and how it is now.

The meeting had a great impact in the southwest of France, as even the town have moved to cover the event journalists from the newspaper "L'Indépendant" and the French public television TF-3.
