Archaeological Sites and Tourism continue to present the Comprehensive Tourism Plan to socioeconomic agents and business sectors (12/02/2018)

The councilors of Archaeological Sites and Tourism, Juan José Cánovas and Inmaculada Blázquez, have held the second sectoral meeting to present the project of the Comprehensive Tourism Plan, this time with local potters.

These are a fundamental piece in the gearing of this commitment to Cultural Tourism in the municipality of Totana.

Last week both municipal officials held a meeting of similar characteristics with representatives of the hospitality sector of Totana.

For this, both councils are also negotiating with the interested hoteliers of Totana the possibility of offering the visitors beneficiaries of this package the so-called "argaric menu".

In this second meeting, the line already marked with the innkeepers was followed, which consists in revitalizing Totana tourism, having as an angular piece and main axis the Argaric site of La Bastida.

This initiative is part of an Integral Tourism Plan that aims to involve the economic agents of the municipality, in this case, hoteliers and merchants;

and with which it is intended to diversify the local tourist activity and reach a figure of more than 7,000 people to Totana a year with the added monographic foundation of the La Bastida field.

The pieces found in the site would move, as explained by public officials, to what was once the Technological Center of Crafts (CTA), a few minutes from the urban center of the city;

where they would expose conforming a museographic collection of the culture of the argar in Totana.

This infrastructure would allow, on the top floor, a space dedicated to a sample of traditional totanera pottery, as well as itinerant exhibitions that help to expand the local cultural offer.

The one that was CTA has a Moorish kiln restored some years ago by the General Directorate of Cultural Assets with more than three hundred years of history, in the area of Las Ollerías where the potters traditionally settled, forming the door to the Huertos de Totana y Sierra Espuña
