The program "Totana at Christmas. Enjoy it!"
This year it offers a total of 44 varied activities that will boost the cultural and social life of this city during the next Christmas and Kings festive dates, most of them organized or with the collaboration of different associations and collectives of the municipality.
The Councilor for Culture, Eulalia Moreno, has presented the list of events that begins today, with the inauguration of the Municipal Bethlehem, and will continue until next January 6;
which are very varied, for all tastes and ages.
The program contains Christmas concerts, Easter Gangs, children's and magic music shows, theater, Merchants Christmas Fair, Gastronomic Market, Christmas Workshops, toy collection campaign, contests, exhibition of cribs, as well as the traditional visits of Santa Claus, the Royal Mailman and the Magi.
This year there are several important news such as the "Christmas Gastronomic Market", from December 23 to 31, organized by the CHACT Hoteliers Association;
the visit of the "Real Postman" (December 28, at 6:00 pm), along with the activity called "Write your letter to the Magi" (4:30 pm).
Also new is the "I Encounter of Easter Gangs" (December 30, from 1 pm), the magic show "Christmas Show, The Magic of Christmas" (January 2, Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel") );
and the "Painting Workshops" given by Ana Murcia and directed to families (on Saturdays 16-23-30 December, Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel").
The Plaza de la Balsa Vieja is once again a dynamic and dynamic center of social life at Christmas, as there will be several Christmas activities, such as the "Santa Claus's visit" (December 23, after 5:00 p.m.), with the participation of the Dance Academy "Loles Miralles"
In this space will also take place the "Roscón de Reyes Solidario", with tasting of chocolate and raffle of gifts (December 28th, at 5:30 p.m.), an activity that is retaken again;
and the "Children's Christmas Candy Workshop" (December 29, at 4:30 pm) and the "Tartazo Solidario, Tiro a Plato" (18 hours), both organized by the CHACT Association.
Similarly, the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja will host the "Mañana Vieja" (December 31), with a Disney musical (11:30 am), giving all the children a cotillion;
and the "Tarde Vieja" (December 31), also organized for the first time by the CHACT Association.
Another of the novelties of this year's program is the children's musical "Supercalifragilístico, Mary Poppins" (December 23, Cine Velasco, at 12 o'clock) -presenting the entrance of the "Lion King" is a discount of 2 euros-.
The delivery of letters to the Magi will be made, as last year, in the municipal auditorium "Marcos Ortiz" (January 4, from 16:30 hours).
The Department has also organized the "Christmas Showcase Contest", with two modalities: one for florists, and another for the rest of establishments;
whose awards ceremony to the winning shops will be held on December 21.
Concerts and musical performances
The program includes numerous concerts and musical performances, including the Christmas Concert of the Polyphonic Choir "Vox Musicalis" (December 16th, Santiago Parish);
Guitar Concert with the performance of the students of the Municipal School of Music (December 18th, Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel").
In addition, there are two "Christmas Carols Concerts" with the performance of students of Musical Initiation and Musical Language of the Municipal School of Music (December 20 and 21, also in "La Cárcel");
and the "Villancicos Concert", with the performance of the Association of Friends of Music of El Paretón (December 22, Church Las Lomas El Paretón).
Also included is a Christmas Carol Mass sung by the Choir Santiago (December 23, Hermitage of San Roque), Concert of Christmas Carols with the performance of Grupo de San Buenaventura and children's group (December 27, Parish of the Three Hail Marys), and End of the Year Concert (December 29, Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel"), organized by the Association "With Forza".
Nativity scenes
Today, December 15, the Municipal Belen and the "Lienzos sobre barro" Exhibition are inaugurated, in the municipal exhibition hall "Gregorio Cebrián";
and the V Belén Solidario of the Brotherhood of La Verónica and the Exhibition of Belen by Fran Carrillo in the Brotherhood of Jesus in Calvary and Santa Cena, both with collection of non-perishable food and personal hygiene.
Other Christmas activities
The program includes the draw of the "Real Mailbox" to select the children who will participate in the Three Kings Parade (December 18), the Innocent VII Gala for the Rare Diseases (December 28, Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel" , at 8:00 p.m.), organized by the D'Genes and AELIP Associations, respectively.
Also, during these days the "Christmas Schools" are offered, programs to reconcile work and family life, during the holiday period, aimed at boys and girls, in the "Santiago" and "La Cruz" schools;
and Christmas workshops, at the Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel".
