Almost 60,000 euros for the Juan de Uzeta de Totana Fountain (13/12/2017)

The Governing Council has authorized the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment to endow with 59,490 euros to the City of Totana to perform the recovery works of Fuente Juan de Uzeta and its surroundings, as reported by the regional government in a statement .

The Juan de Uzeta Fountain is a referential element of iconic character for the city of Totana .

Built in the eighteenth century, it is located south of the Plaza de la Constitución and is part of an urban group of great artistic value in which is the Church of Santiago Apóstol, declared a Site of Cultural Interest, to the west;

the Consistorial House, to the north;

and the House of Contributions and the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja, to the east.

The Source now shows signs of aesthetic degradation and problems of functioning of water flows, which makes necessary a deep conservation action to avoid the loss of original elements and return to the whole a dignified image that enables the morphological and chromatic reading original.
