Roberto Cánovas Andreo is elected the new president of the Brotherhood of Jesus on Calvary and Holy Supper (19/11/2017)

Roberto Canovas Andreo was elected yesterday by absolute majority new president of the Brotherhood of Jesus on Calvary and Holy Supper of Totana in the course of an extraordinary assembly that was held in the headquarters of this brotherhood with the assistance of many brothers and sisters .

The new president comes to replace the one that has been responsible for the brotherhood in the last four years, Alfonso Giménez Legaz, after the first presented his candidacy on October 28 during the electoral process that has taken place, once approved this one in the last ordinary assembly of September 26.

More than fifty people participated in the elections, between brothers and sisters, in a good atmosphere of coexistence and brotherhood.

Together with the new president they also accompany him to the new Board of Directors: Alfonso Romero, Juan María Zamarreño and Francisco Valenzuela, as vice-presidents;

Andrés José Andreo (treasurer) and Beatriz Cánovas Arnao (secretary).

These were presented to the assembly by the new president.

The president announced that he is also working on specifying and specifying the rest of the constituencies that will make up the new Board of Directors, and that it will be presented definitively in the coming weeks.

The elections were held after the Electoral Board was established to coordinate the entire process and read the rules of participation to elect the new president of the brotherhood.

These took place at the end of the previous ordinary meeting at which the statement of accounts and the economic report of the last budget year were approved unanimously.

The Electoral Board that has governed the procedure and has watched over the normal functioning and development of the procedure contained in the statutes of the brotherhood during the last weeks was presided by Alfonso Romero (president), Gregorio Asensio (secretary), and Alfonso Giménez, Gaspar Espín and Fracisco José Tudela, as vocals.

The incoming president, Roberto Cánovas, thanked the work and effort of the outgoing president, Alfonso Giménez, and his Board of Directors during the last years;

and asked all attendees for their collaboration to continue making Calvary one of the most important brotherhoods of the Holy Week of Totana and make reality, with the help of all, the planned projects.

For his part, the outgoing president, Alfonso Giménez, wished the mayor the best of luck because he said that his achievements and successes will be those of the whole brotherhood and he encouraged everyone to work for the common and general good of the brotherhood as a whole.
