The 32nd Ascent to La Santa will congregate 65 pilots during this next weekend (20/09/2017)

The 32nd Ascent to La Santa de Totana will congregate 65 pilots during this next weekend, of which 22 are local drivers;

and whose celebration will be a test for this test to be included in the Spanish Mountain Championship of 2018, as happened years ago.

The Councilor for Sports, Isabel María Molino, the president of the Automobile Club Totana -the organizing entity of the event-, José María Martínez, and the sports director of this edition, Daniel López, presented the characteristics of the event, which hopes to gather more of 22,000 people between the days of Saturday and Sunday in the vicinity of the road of La Santa.

The test is scoring this year for the Murcia Mountain Championships '2017, Mountain Lift Open'2017 and Spanish Mountain Cup;

and has the collaboration of the Federation of Automovilismo of the Region of Murcia.

The race will feature three of the five fastest drivers currently in the mountain automobile climbs, among them, the Malaga and champion of Spain junior, Manuel Avilés.

The success of the test during this next weekend will depend on the Rise to be included in the calendar of official races of the Championship of Spain of Mountain of the Spanish Federation of Automovilismo, as it happened several years ago.

On Friday, September 22, the technical verifications and the accreditation of pilots will be carried out in the "Manolo Ibáñez" Sports Pavilion;

and at night, after 9:00 pm, the exhibition and exhibition ceremony will be held in the fairgrounds (closed park) and the official presentation of the drivers and participating vehicles, with a musical animation and bar for the attendees.

The road RM-502, which communicates Totana and Aledo, will be cut on 23 and 24 September at the height of the urbanization "La Charca" in order to be able to dispute the different official sleeves of the event.

Thus, on Saturday 23 will be cut to traffic from 11:00 to 18:30 hours (the sleeves will start at 13:00 hours) and Sunday 24 will be closed from 7:00 to 14:00 hours (the climbs will begin at 8:30 am).

As always, the exit will be at the 3.2 kilometer point of this route RM-502 (urbanization entrance "La Charca") and the arrival at 7 (crossing of the Angel, in La Santa - where the trophy Sunday-);

with a length of 3.8 kilometers and a slope of 210 meters (slope of 5%).

The access of the interested people to the sanctuary of the Patron of Totana must be realized through the place of the Jumero;

and residents living in the urbanization "La Charca" must access their homes through the transfer area.

In addition, visitors are reminded that it is totally prohibited to carry out fires, camping and bottles in the environment where the course of the test takes place;

and attendees are required to only access the areas delimited exclusively for the spectators, as well as to respect, for safety reasons, the indications of the commissars, Local Police, Civil Protection and Civil Guard Traffic.

The organizers called for the citizenship of the visitors to the regional park and called on the fans to take care of the natural environment of Sierra Espuña and respect the environment, especially as regards the deposit of garbage and organic remains during the days which is celebrating this sporting event.
