In the last July plenary session, Councilor for Health of the Socialist Municipal Group, Isabel Molino, presented a motion regarding the physiotherapy service provided at the Totana Norte Health Center, which was unanimously approved.

After several meetings with those responsible for the physiotherapy area of ​​the Totana Norte Health Center, the Councilor for Health gathered all the demands and demands of the professionals involved and presented them in the July plenary session.

Among the main demands are:

Improve and increase the machines, equipment and instruments used for physiotherapy sessions, such as stretchers that are very deteriorated.

Hiring at least one full-time physiotherapist.

Since, currently in Totana, only one physical therapist is available in the morning, that is, from 8 to 15 hours, from Monday to Friday, and only two days a week receive help from another physiotherapist.

The hiring of an auxiliary to help the physiotherapist in the mobilization and transfer of patients, since on many occasions patients with reduced mobility are left without the necessary care.

Do not close the service during the holiday periods, but rather recruit staff to cover the Service.

Fortunately, this last claim has already become a reality.

After the pressure exerted by the professionals of the area, the Councilor for Health, Isabel Molino and the local media, the area of ​​physiotherapy of the Health Center Totana North, will not be closed during the month of August.

Therefore, the recruitment of a substitute physiotherapist by the Murciano Health Service has been carried out, which will allow all users to continue with their sessions and their treatments are not interrupted during the month of August.

In addition, this measure will expedite physiotherapy waiting lists, since the total closure of the service that was being carried out in previous years, increased the waiting lists for September.
