IES students «Prado Mayor» back in Totana after completing their internship in companies in Italy (16/06/2017)

Last month, nine students from the IES «Prado Mayor» Totana , traveled to Rimini (Italy) as part of the ERASMUS + mobility project for pupils of the Middle School Formation Cycles developed by the center.

These students have done part of their training module in Work Centers (FCT) in different Italian companies.

These are four students of the Middle Degree Training Cycle of "Electrical and Automatic Installations" that have been trained in Electricity companies and five students of the Middle Degree Training Cycle of "Hairdressing and Hair Cosmetics" who have worked in Hairdressing in Italy.

Vocational training young people who went on ERASMUS + scholarships to another European country, have done so to work in their companies from the first to the last day, as one more employee, it is not a paid vacation.

The companies that meet the needs of the profiles of the students are chosen and the training program for each participant, prepared by the tutors of the FCT, is negotiated with the host company.

The realization of the FCT module in an organization installed in a European country different from his / her residence, implies developing terminal capacities of his Formative Cycle in a different environment (with probably different productive systems and technologies), to an organization located in his municipality .

Students gain experience in both the local and foreign environments and enrich their practices by acquiring new ways of performing the tasks of the profession they have chosen.

A teacher accompanied the students on the trip, and stayed for a week in Rimini (Italy), controlling the incorporation of the students to the companies and their first days in the destination country, since they are students who do not have Experience abroad.

This allows better management of documentation.

The IES "Prado Mayor" hires an agency in charge of organizing and ensuring the student's stay in student residences, identifying an adult who will take care of the tutelage and organize the cultural part of the stay with visits, talks, and other activities.

Once in the country, the center is in daily contact with the students through the means we have at our disposal, telephone, WhatsApp and email.

The monitoring and the final evaluation have been made through an interview with the tutor of the reception company.

The program has been verified and the evaluation has been carried out.

An interview with the tutor of the intermediary center has also been carried out to verify the development of the project by the student.

For this has been necessary that again, a teacher travels at least for another week to the destination country.

This teacher has accompanied the students on their return trip to Totana.

Students also enrich their academic training with this experience have taken advantage of to establish contact with students from other countries, and soak up the Italian culture.

They confess upon arrival that although they are very happy to be reunited with their family and friends, once adapted to their residence and work place in Rimini (Italy) they would have loved to stay for another month.
