The Local Government Board has recently approved the proposal of the Councilor for Contracting, Ana María Cánovas, to award the minor contract for the works of adaptation of the Plaza de Abastos municipal for 18,997 euros.
The City Council of Totana received, at the beginning of this year, a grant awarded by the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment to undertake improvement and modernization works in the Plaza de Abastos of this town, located on the Rambla de La Santa.
The Councilor for the Weekly Market and Plaza de Abastos, Gertrudis Ruiz, explained that this aid was granted under the order of the Autonomous Community which grants subsidies to Local Corporations for the modernization of municipal markets of supplies, as a measure Of promotion and dynamization of the commercial sector in the Region.
With this grant, it will be allowed to undertake a project to adapt Totana's Plaza de Abastos, which has the aforementioned amount, of which a part is financed with the aid granted and, in addition, this is completed with a municipal contribution of 3,441.92 Euros.
It is estimated that the completion of these improvements in Plaza de Abastos will last approximately two months, from the award and start of the same, as indicated by the council of the branch.
The actions to be carried out will consist of the renovation of the exterior tile placating of the posts, the reform of the ceiling and subsequent painting of the same, as well as the placement of a door in the main façade.
In addition, work will be done to repair existing toilets, adapting them to the use of people with disabilities, replacement of sinks and modification of current steps of access to the building, among others.
All these measures and reforms foreseen in this municipal infrastructure are oriented to put in value and modernize this municipal service in the Supply Market.
