The Totana-O club returns from the Spanish Championship with five golds, three silver and three bronze medals (17/04/2017)

The club Totana-O does not stop taking the name of our town to the highest.

No less than eleven metals comes from the great appointment of this year's orientation, the Spanish Championship 2017, held in the Madrid towns of Miraflores de la Sierra and Canencia, and organized by the club Gocan de Alcalá de Henares.

On Friday 14 the competition began with the average distance race in the "Pinar de Canencia", a fast test and of great technical level, in which Marta Martínez Barceló proclaimed champion of Spain in category F-14, like Salvador Martínez, champion of Spain in M-45.

In the afternoon and in the same "Pinar de Canencia" the traditional classic relays were celebrated, in which the Murcian team of M-veterans B in the party were Salvador Martinez and Fermín Barceló were bronze medal.

On Saturday, 15, the competition continued with the Sprint distance in the morning, in the streets and surroundings of Miraflores de la Sierra, where Rosa Sanchez Bishop won the gold medal in the F-20 category.

In the afternoon, the mixed relays took place, with departure and finish in the bullring of Miraflores, where they were proclaimed runners-up of Spain in Murcia team of Veterans B, in which the totaneros Salvador Martínez, María Romero and María Cortijos.

Finally, on Sunday, 16, in the same area as the middle distance was closed to CEO 2017 with the long distance race with two golds and a bronze: Salvador Martinez and Maria Teresa Barceló were proclaimed champions of Spain in the categories M- 45 and F-35, and Marta Martinez Barceló took the bronze in F-14.

In F-18, Alba Martínez Ibáñez was 17th in the middle, 24th in the sprint and 12th in the long.

In F-21 Inmaculada Díaz Rivero was 29th in the middle, 22nd in the sprint and 29th in the long.

In F-21 B Mari Carmen Ruiz Galián was 6th in the middle and 27th in the long, and 21st in the sprint in F-21 A. In F-35 María Teresa Barceló was also 13th in the middle and in the sprint.

In F-40 Carmen Martinez Villanueva was 26ª in the average 19ª in the sprint and 38ª in the long one;

María Romero Martínez was 15th in the middle and 39th in the long, and 14th in the sprint in F-45.

In F-45 Maria Cortijos was 10th in the middle, 8th in the sprint and 15th in the long.

In M-14 Manuel Martínez Barceló was 14th in all three races.

In M-18 Antonio Jesús López Cortijos was 6º in the mean and 17º in the sprint.

In M-35 Juan Francisco Sanchez was 11º in the average10 in the sprint and 15º in the long.

In M-45 Salvador Martínez was also 7º in the sprint.

In M-50 Fermín Barceló Otálora was 16th in the middle, 31st in the sprint and 11th in the long.

In Open categories, Rosa Ibáñez Serrano was 33rd in the middle and long;

And José Martínez Cánovas was 16th in the middle and 24th in the long.

Finally, mention the club members who did not score for the CEO for being foreigners but did participate: in F-50 Judith Checkley made in third best time in the average, the eleventh best time in the sprint and the eighth best time In the long run.

At M-65 Martin Checkley was tenth fastest in the middle, the fifth fastest time in the sprint and the seventh fastest time in the longest.
