The City of Totana has joined the long list of municipalities of the Region of Murcia that have "cardioprotegidas" their municipal sports facilities for the prevention of sportsmen and amateurs, under the agreement of collaboration signed with the Federation of Soccer of the Region Of Murcia (FFRM).

The mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, and vice-president of the FFRM, the totanero Bartolomé Molino, accompanied by the Councilor for Sports, Isabel María Molino, today signed the collaboration agreement which has been delivered eight defibrillators for To meet the needs of the different public sports infrastructures of the municipality.

The vice president of the FFRM has delivered the defibrillators "Philips" that will install the football and soccer-hall areas distributed by the municipality, such as the "Valverde Reina" Sports Complex, Valle Guadalentín Sports Complex (2) El Paretón, municipal stadium "Juan Cayuela", Municipal Sports Center "6 de diciembre", Sports Pavilion "Manolo Ibáñez" (2) and Sala Escolar.

With this delivery, the City of Totana, already has its facilities "cardioprotegidas" as well as the municipalities of Cartagena, Archena, Lorca, Aguilas, Librilla, Campos del Río, Fortuna, Abanilla, Torre Pacheco, Bullas, Alcantarilla, Albudeite, Pinatar Arena, Blanca, Pulpí, Huércal-Overa and Puerto Lumbreras, Mazarrón, Abarán, Jumilla and Yecla.

This initiative comes thanks to the collaboration agreement between the FFRM and the company "Philips" which benefits nearly 80,000 athletes from 17 federations in the Region of Murcia, with the creation of cardioprotected environments throughout the Autonomous Community, with which 350 defibrillators will be distributed with a total investment of 650,000 euros.

Bartolomé Molino explained that with this agreement, "FFRM players will be able to practice their favorite sports in cardioprotected facilities" and added that "in addition to defibrillators, education, training and awareness campaigns are carried out periodically to all persons linked to The population in general and the world of sport in particular. "

The agreement between the two entities, with an initial validity of four years, contemplates that the League of Autonomous Regional of Football in the Region happens to be denominated "Liga Philips por tu Salud" and that all the t-shirts of the Territorial Selections of Football and Soccer Sala, include the Philips logo and the slogan "Por tu Salud".

In fact, the Board of Directors and the Assembly of the Football Federation unanimously approved last July to allocate the benefits of the next four exercises to provide defibrillators all facilities where they practice the modalities of football and futsal.

This initiative joins the formation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and prevention of sudden death through the use of the defibrillator that is organizing the FFRM and in which have already formed the thousand collegiate football and football, being now the turn of coaches , Managers, and so on.

For its part, the Consistory totanero is committed to the installation of donated equipment in the football fields and pavilions cited;

As well as to promote the training of the monitors and to ensure the proper use and maintenance of the equipment once installed in the sports infrastructures.

The Councilor for Sports has thanked the initiative of the FFRM and noted that all clubs in Totana are already working on the training of the use of defibrillators thanks to the initiative of selling bracelets that has been carried out since last year for the acquisition of these;

And has announced that the pretension is to promote the training of monitors and staff of the Department of Sports.

The mayor also thanked the FFRM for the signing of the agreement and stressed that this is a very important advance in terms of prevention of health and the quality of sporting events being held.

Technological advances have allowed the development of semiautomatic external defibrillators (DESA) that make the application of defibrillation simple and safe by authorized non-medical personnel through the execution of a specific, properly accredited training program.

This agreement subscribes to the need to implement cardioprotected areas that are equipped with defibrillators, appropriately trained people and other elements to act quickly against sudden cardiac arrest as the first intervener until the arrival of emergency services.
