The City of Totana has agreed to sign the annual collaboration agreement for 2017 with the Volunteer Association of Civil Protection of this town to carry out the special services that are being developed in the municipality of Totana for a total amount of 53,000 euros .

Of these, the figure of 10,000 euros corresponds to the provision of the ambulance service in municipal events and when required by this administration;

And the remaining 43,000 euros are to cover expenses incurred for the performance of special services.

The proposal of the Councilor for Citizen Security and Emergencies, Agustín Gonzalo Martínez, was approved by the Local Government Board and fixes the agreement of the two entities mentioned in which establish the rights and obligations of the parties involved in matters of citizen security.

The Group of Volunteers of Civil Protection is committed to the intervention in forest and municipal fires and the support to the fire brigade during the 24 hours the 365 days of the year, the provision of a service of urban route or environment that watch in irregular schedule The areas of the municipality of Totana and neighboring.

In addition, provide surveillance service in the parking lot of La Santa (Sunday mornings) and, at the same time, supervise the barbecue areas frequented all year round;

Revision of the hydrants of the municipality;

Updating of the Municipal Emergency Plan;

And service of closing of doors in the municipal park "Marcos Ortiz", during every Saturday and Sunday of the year.

It also assumes the Municipal Emergency Service (SEM) in sports events, processional parades of Easter, natural catastrophes, removal of swarms and dangerous animals, among others.

The agreement establishes the collaboration of Civil Protection with the Local Police and Civil Guard, as well as providing the ambulance service in municipal events and when required by this administration, in the case of a conventional service and sometimes as an advanced life support.
