The City Council of Totana has joined today, through a silent concentration of five minutes carried out at noon, symbolic unemployment to protest for women's unemployment and in solidarity with women who suffer gender violence on the occasion of International Women's Day.
To this end, a concentration was held at 12:00 noon at the City Hall, in solidarity with women victims of gender violence, especially in this year that has begun with such a negative balance, increasing the deaths by sexist violence .
With this general strike, summoned in thirty countries, it aims to stop gender violence, supporting the initiative promoted by the Argentine movement "Ni una menos", denouncing inequality between women and men, gender violence and the wage gap.
The Mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, and numerous members of the municipal corporation, public workers, representatives of the social fabric and neighbors in general were present at the event.
