Totana hosted today a day to promote entrepreneurship and cooperativism to the population, which was inaugurated by the mayor, Juan José Cánovas, Councilor for Economic Development, Antonia Camacho, and the president of the Union of Associated Labor Cooperatives of the Region of Murcia (UCOMUR), Juan Antonio Pedreño, under the motto "Bet on cooperativism".
The day began with a minute of silence from the participants on the occasion of the celebration today of the International Day of Violence and Gender.

Precisely, one of the services offered by UCOMUR is the advice for the creation of this business plan that shows a sketch of the entire forecast of expenses and income of the company, whether cooperative or not.
During the day, four cooperative companies of Totana and Alhama de Murcia explained their experiences in the joint venture under the cooperative formula.
These companies were the Advising "Andréu Olivares", the Autoescuela "On wheels", the school "Reina Sofía" and the textile "Mobel Sport".
During the exhibitions, the entrepreneurs have verified how the cooperative model can be a cost-effective way to self-join together;
Realities that can be a turning point for people in the municipality of Totana who are unemployed and who decide to undertake within a model that includes values ​​such as democracy, equality, social responsibility and commitment to the environment .
This action has been carried out within the framework of the agreement signed between the City of Totana and UCOMUR for the promotion of cooperativism and social economy in the municipality signed last May.
This initiative has been an example of institutional collaboration of the Town Council with entities and agencies with which it has been developing agreements for the promotion of employment.
In addition, UCOMUR is committed to revitalize the Nursery of Companies of this locality, promoting the creation of employment in all its modalities in this municipality.
