The User Advisory Service of the Municipal Services Department of Economic Development Totana today makes a number of recommendations and reminders to mark the International Day of Consumer Rights held today, March 15.

The consumer protection rights are collected and recognized both the constitutional level, article 51 of the Constitution as reflected in the Statute of Autonomy of the Region of Murcia.

Among these we recall the protection against risks that may affect the health and safety that holistically conceived, including therefore the risks that threaten the environment and quality of life of users.

It also refers to the protection of the legitimate economic and social interests, in particular against unfair trade practices and the inclusion of unfair terms in contracts.

In addition, compensation for damages and compensation for damages suffered, information and consumer education, and representation through consumer organizations are collected and users- to defend the interests and participation and consultation on matters that affect them.

Also it included among these rights the protection of rights through effective, especially in situations of inferiority, subordination and helplessness procedures.

Here are some of their rights in this area to all citizens-consumers, and help to generate confidence that the market itself and leave out those acting unfairly.

Special groups such as children, adolescents, pregnant women, elderly, sick, disabled or immigrants are the subject of specific actions in protecting these rights.

Similarly, it should be noted that the prior renunciation of the exercise of these rights is prohibited and that any agreement that is aimed at the exclusion of its application is null and void.
