PSOE - March 8 2016 Manifesto International Women's Day (08/03/2016)

We commemorated on March 8 with the festive and claiming that the International Women's Day involves character.

This year we do our concept of United Nations substantive equality of converting the nominal equality of our laws on real equality.

To achieve it, we must act on three interrelated areas: correct the socio-economic situation in which the popular government has placed women, fight sexist stereotypes and all forms of gender violence and work for strengthening the representation and participation Women's.

To achieve substantive equality is not only necessary to do more but do better.

This is best done starting point: address the problems and call them by name, address solutions and call them by name.

The problem is called discrimination, inequality, patriarchy.

A problem that is increasing.

In the last legislature have shot all gender gaps, dozens of women are killed each year and each year the number of children killed, children of abusers.

The machismo rampant and have become commonplace harassment feminists and advocates of women's rights.

The solution to the profound inequality between men and women is called feminism.

There have been many attempts to eliminate ideological consistency and political and intellectual tradition of feminism and its extremely long social struggle.

It's time to speak out and to provide solutions.

Smoke and confusion are not, they should not be political instruments.

Since those years in which the Socialists won the first and modest share of 12% stake to make reality the concept of parity, equality work has been constant.

In that way we have had many successes: the Comprehensive Law against Gender Violence, the Equality Law, the Law on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy Act of same-sex marriage, the Law Unit the Concilia Plan, education Plan 0-3, the introduction of co-education and education for citizenship.

They are successes we remember with emotion, with pride.

All laws, all developments were decisive steps towards a more just society more worthy.

Were changes that improved the lives of people, which improved our society.

Therefore, besides the pride of the conquered, our history compels us to continue to claim and proposing solutions that begin including equality as a priority action which also extends transversely to the other political actions.

Always against machismo it means a big boost Covenant Institutional, Political and Social against gender violence, a State Pact to get eradicate the most extreme manifestation of inequality.

Always against machismo means to bet on an economy of equality that eliminates barriers to access to employment, retention and promotion, to end the wage gap and historical remora that women accountable almost exclusively of care .

Always against machismo it means that there is no democracy without women.

In the PSOE we parity democracy, a participatory democracy for which it is necessary to make a new social contract that includes women.

A Gender Pact involving the recognition of full citizenship and aims at achieving balanced representation between men and women in all areas, in all institutions.

Always against machismo it includes end prostitution and human trafficking for sexual exploitation, manifestations of gender violence.

It includes work on the eradication of one of the cruelest and hopefully last forms of slavery.

Always against machismo includes building a coeducational system to ensure training in gender equality at all levels (from kindergarten to university), to incorporate the interests, knowledge and history of women in the curriculum;

to provide an affective-sexual education that includes the gender perspective from the first cycles and how to resolve conflicts peacefully and non-sexist, so that is the best prevention against gender violence.

Always against machismo means defending the freedom of choice of women on motherhood, recognize and respect the sexual and reproductive rights.

He said this when asked Clara Campoamor women's vote: "The Republic can not fail women."

Democracy, either.

Democracy can not fail women.

We want a society of men and women who can dream of making their life projects reality, their professional projects, which have the ability to decide what they want to study, where they want to live, what kind of family they want to build, who want to love, how they can be happy.

We want a society where women live free from violence.

A society that we will build in honor of Campoamor, without fraud or frauds.

A society in which no one is left out, in which no one is left behind.

Always against machismo.

Happy March 8!
