| Given the positive epidemiological evolution of the municipality | The mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, met today at the headquarters of the regional executive, in the Palacio de San Esteban, with the president of the autonomous government, Fernando López Miras, the Minister of Health, Manuel Villegas, and the director general of Public Health, José Carlos Vicente, in order to address the epidemiological evolution of this municipality, in phase 1 made more flexible for almost two weeks as a result of an outbreak in a nightclub.The first mayor has thanked López Miras for the gesture he has had to receive him “with this time constraint” after requesting this institutional meeting at the last minute of last Friday, and to do so just before the meeting of the COVID Regional Monitoring Committee -19 with the experts of the Epidemiology Service.The regional officials and the mayor have evaluated and analyzed the evolution of the outbreaks that have been registered in Totana in recent days, which forced the return of this municipality to phase 1; and they have addressed the need to arbitrate urgent financial aid for the sectors that are having the most consequences of this crisis, local hospitality and commerce.It has also been discussed the need for the City Council to assume the responsibilities of closing the premises of the hospitality industry due to the inconvenience of the neighborhood and the problem of schedules.As for the infection rate, he has expressed his satisfaction with the evolution that the pandemic is having in Totana after the outbreaks of the last three weeks; and he has expressed his hope of being able to get out of phase 1 as soon as possible.In addition, the Minister of Health has promised to be in permanent communication with the Mayor's Office to launch aid that will help professionals in the hospitality and commerce after the two crises that Totana has suffered during the de-escalation and today.Similarly, efforts have been made to seek coordination formulas to effectively monitor possible quarantine breaches by the infected and their contacts, with the collaboration of the Security Forces and Bodies and health professionals.Lastly, he acknowledged the existence of differences in criteria and attitude to try to deal with this crisis and reiterated his loyalty to the regional government to the measures of the health authorities, which he hopes will be flexible in the coming days in the face of a possible new scenario that allows improve the situation in Totana.
