The Councilor for Health, Inmaculada Blázquez, has submitted a motion to the July plenary requesting the Murcian Health Service (SMS) to provide a transfer ambulance to the municipality of Totana, through the concessionaire of the medical transport, since It has the necessary infrastructure to be able to host this service, fulfilling the required conditions. One of the most common problems in Totana in terms of emergency assistance is the waiting time for the arrival of ambulances since it depends on the bases of the neighboring municipalities, especially Lorca; being this the one that is at a greater distance, which makes it longer to wait for those patients who have an emergency or who have already been treated but need transfer, according to the motion. The ambulance service consists of emergency medicalized ambulances, which have their bases established by the SMS and others that are used to transport patients and patients, the so-called transfer ambulances. In this case and according to the bases of conditions signed between the new concessionaire and the SMS, these ambulances can be established in other points of proximity by mileage where it is necessary to reinforce the service. In order to house one of these transfer ambulances, it is necessary to have an infrastructure to physically locate the ambulance, as well as a space where the health personnel corresponding to that vehicle can be installed while they are not carrying out a service.Given that Totana has the necessary infrastructure to house this transfer ambulance as well as being able to offer healthcare personnel a resting place in the Civil Protection facilities, it is appropriate to request that the municipality be provided with one of these vehicles to speed up transport when necessary, once the emergency has been attended to or only the transfer of the patient is required.
