Temperatures rise in the coming days, which will trigger warnings in the Region of Murcia (25/07/2020)

After the month of July "bearable" that we are having, tomorrow Sunday and the beginning of next week temperatures will continue to rise slightly.

We will not reach extreme values ??of 40-44 ºC as they are going to reach in areas of the southwest of the Peninsula between today and Monday, but in the Region of Murcia the heat will also be intense.Without expecting extreme temperatures, or at most hovering around 40 ºC locally, temperatures are expected to be around 38-39 ºC in deep and flat areas of the interior depressions of the Region of Murcia, such as the Valle del Guadalentín, Vega del Segura, Altiplano and low areas of the Northwest. For this reason, both for tomorrow, Sunday and Monday, AEMET has activated the yellow warning for temperatures that can reach 38 ºC in the Guadalentín Valley, Lorca and Águilas, Northwest and Altiplano.

These notices are provisional, since they could also be extended to the Vega del Segura in subsequent updates, in addition to the fact that the expected value could be changed to 39 ºC.

At the moment it is not foreseen that the orange warning will be activated for maximums of 40 ºC.

The coast will have high temperatures (but not so much) and high humidity, so the feeling of embarrassment will be intense. These environmental conditions will make the fire risk very high or extreme in the Region of Murcia in the coming days.On Tuesday temperatures will drop due to the entrance of east winds and it is possible that they will rise again from Wednesday. Therefore, Totana Civil Protection asks the population to follow some recommendations:Stay home if possible in the middle of the dayIn case of outdoor activities that are in the early or late hours of the dayWear light, light-colored clothingStay well hydratedStay in well-ventilated places and never in carsPay special attention to the elderly, children and dependents.Do not make any fires and call 112 if you see smoke or fire.
