Objective: "do not let your guard down" (13/04/2020)

Yesterday afternoon, urgently, we held a meeting of the Coordination Table set up to face actions against the coronavirus in the Municipality of Totana.

The presence of the Police Officer, the Lieutenant of the Civil Guard and the Mayor, assisted by the Secretary of the Corporation and with the presence of Civil Protection.

It is about addressing the return to the situation 15 days ago and the organization so that citizens do not relax because the danger is there and the longer we are in the house, the less time it will take to end the confinement.

From 6 in the morning, the Security Forces -in the controls-, distribute masks that the Government Delegation has sent us and the incorporations of the Productive Sectors that resume activity today, we want it to be carried out with the greatest possible protection , equipping workers and masks.

It would be interesting for companies to assess whether they can implement the intensive day on these days, to avoid as much as possible exposure in the street or work centers.

The data published at the Regional level is not as good as we would like or the upswing in China and Italy these days, make it clear to us that this extremely serious situation has not ended, far from it.

We must take extreme measures in a situation where more people go to work and that leads to increased risk.

It is very difficult to combine a minimum economic activity with the security that prevents contagion.

I ask you not to let your guard down as much as we want to get out of this situation.

We must overcome the pandemic in the best conditions and the shortest time within our possibilities.

Totana continues to give quite acceptable figures and in a very important part it is due to the responsibility of the majority of the population.

WE NEED NOT TO LOWER THE MORAL, KEEP CALM AND BE VERY CLEAR THAT THE MOST EFFECTIVE IS TO STAY AT HOME AND NOT GO OUT WHICH IS NOT ESSENTIAL OR URGENT.

EXTREME THE HYGIENE AND PROTECTION MEASURES AND STRENGTHEN FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.

WE ARE GOING TO OVERCOME, BUT WE HAVE TIME.

REMEMBER THAT A RELAPSE IS VERY DANGEROUS AND WE MUST AVOID IT.

Good day and lots of encouragement to face this week.

Juan José Cánovas, Mayor of Totana
