The Local Government Board has recently approved the initiative to implement the campaign "One tree for every child born in Totana", passing to the technical assessment of the Department of Urban Planning, Services and Environment the study of a suitable place to take it to cape.

In addition, it has been approved to transfer the present proposal to the departments of Citizen Participation, and the areas of Statistics and Services in order to organize the first symbolic planting with those citizens and parents interested in participating in it.

The changes facing today's human societies also pose great challenges to face in order to achieve a sustainable future;

and one of them, is the challenge of environmental sustainability and the fight against climate change, reflected in the 2030 agenda of the United Nations.

Facing the environmental challenge involves establishing palliative measures such as reducing the carbon footprint and the consumption of plastics and other agents of polluting potential, as well as recovering our natural tissue.

In addition, in this process it is essential to educate the new generations in the value of the conservation of the environment and the natural fabric, in a way that guarantees a sustainable future and in good hands.

This proposal has been approved at the initiative of the Municipal Group Win Totana-Izquierda Unida, with which reference is made especially to a practice, once traditional in many places, which becomes fashionable again in many cities of the world: plant a tree for each Baby born in the municipality.

This initiative is considered positive for the municipality of Totana and for the education in environmental values ​​of our new generations to join this fabric of global initiatives, being able to adapt some area of ​​our territory for it.

One of the most prepared enclosures to cover this initiative could be the Las Gredas garden, next to the La Cruz School, since it has an area and irrigation infrastructure, and other areas of the municipality can be contemplated.
