The City Council of Totana strongly condemns and shows its institutional revulsion for the triple case of sexist violence that occurred yesterday in Pontevedra, where the Civil Guard has arrested a man for killing his ex-wife, his ex-mother-in-law and his ex-sister in the parish of Cordeiro, dependent on the Pontevedra town of Valga, in the presence of his two youngest children, aged four and seven.
According to sources of the investigation, the events happened early Monday morning when the woman left her home to take her children to school.
In an annexed farm, the victim has been surprised by his ex-husband, who was in separation proceedings, and who shot him with a short weapon.
At that time, according to the first reconstruction, his mother and sister have come to his aid, who have also been shot dead in the presence of the two children.
Subsequently, the man has returned to the municipality of Ames, where he lived with his parents, and has turned himself in to a Civil Guard barracks.
The emergency services received the first alert call shortly after 8:00, from Valga.
The ex-wife of the detainee was 39, while the mother was 58 and the sister 27.
The couple was in separation proceedings, but there are no previous complaints or orders of protection in force, as confirmed by judicial sources.

With the murder of his ex-wife, there are already 41 killed by their partners or ex-partners so far this year and 28 children who have been orphaned.
Neither the ex-sister nor the ex-sister, also dead, will be part of the official statistics.
Since 2003, 1,016 women have been fatal victims of sexist crimes.
In addition, this is the second sexist crime recorded in Valga, a municipality of just six thousand inhabitants, in 2019. Last March a man shot his wife with a shotgun and then killed himself.
