The Local Police manages to return more than 120 lost items to their owners during the first half of this year (20/08/2019)

The Local Police of Totana has managed to return to its owners more than 120 lost objects during the first half of this year 2016, largely thanks to the operation of the "Lost Objects" section of the Totana.es municipal website, which is used as a useful tool at the service of the citizen.

It receives hundreds of information inquiries every year since it was put into operation in May 2015;

and includes images of lost objects that are ceded by the citizens to the Local Police and others that can be stolen and are recovered by the Local Police agents.

In these first six months of the year, for example, 18 documents, 9 purses, 40 sets of keys, 17 cards, 15 mobile phones, 3 bags, 1 check, 1 family book, 1 bank card, have been delivered to their owners. 1 card holder, 4 glasses, 2 fanny packs, 1 suitcase, 1 backpack, 1 case, among others.

As a curiosity, on December 1, 2018 a bag was recovered that carried more than 65 tenths of Christmas Lottery and 40 euros in tickets, and the owner could be located after the police inquiries that were made.

The launch of this service within the web has allowed many of these users to have recovered their belongings that appear next to a numerical reference - during this time.

The Lost Objects service of the Local Police of Totana, located in the premises of the Headquarters of the Local Police, is responsible for cataloging, classification and return of all objects that are found on public roads, either by themselves. Police officers as by neighbors.

The procedure in the event that a neighbor finds something and wants to take it to the Lost Objects office is very simple, since after taking data from the person who delivers the object, it is filed electronically, recording all its characteristics, marks, serial numbers, place where it was found, and so on.

Depending on the data obtained from the object, an attempt is made to contact the owner of the object by telephone or at his home to proceed to its immediate return;

and in the case that it is impossible to know the ownership of the object delivered and after a few years from the date of delivery in these units and that no one had claimed it, the person who delivered it will be contacted and who can dispose of that object without more paperwork
