The Spanish Union of Cooperatives of Education (UECoE) and the Cooperative Group Cajamar have presented the prizes of the contest "We undertake the promotion of cooperative entrepreneurship in the school", within the framework of the celebration of the International Day of Cooperatives, organized by the Federation of Cooperatives and the Social Economy - FECOMA.
The manager of UECoE, Concepción Castarlenas, and the director of Banking of Social Economy Companies of Cajamar, Miguel Rodríguez de la Rubia, were in charge of presenting the event and presenting the awards to the representatives of the award-winning schools: the Cooperative de Enseñanza COENZA Don Bosco School in Zaragoza, Santander Verdemar Teaching Cooperative and Gredos San Diego de Guadarrama School - Madrid.
The awards ceremony was also attended by the president of UECoE, Carlos Sierra, and the president of FECOMA, Carlos de la Higuera.
The Cooperativa COENZA Don Bosco School of Zaragoza has won the first prize with the project "Naturate", which proposes the establishment of a cooperative whose purpose is a personalized online service based on trust, directed to the public in general, and especially those who must eat away from home for their work as well as people with special diets.
The project stands out for its degree of maturity, professional, commercial, technical, legal and economic viability, as well as teamwork and responsible participation of all students who have developed it.
The prize is endowed with 2,000 euros for the acquisition of educational or computer material that favors the work of teachers and the development of the students of this educational cooperative.
The second prize was for the Santander Verdemar Cooperative and the third for the Gredos San Diego de Guadarrama School - Madrid, each of which is equipped with 1,200 euros and 800 euros, respectively, for the acquisition of educational or computer material.
The students from the Santander cooperative presented the "Ropaytal" project consisting of the start-up of a school cooperative whose purpose is to collect used clothing once processed and selected to sell it and donate the benefit to an NGO.
For its part, the students of the Madrid cooperative have won the third prize for the "Zipline" project based on the constitution of a cooperative dedicated to designing and launching a digital platform for the exchange of services based on the collaborative economy, a project with high technological and also human content.
The object of the contest, in which ESO and Basic FP students participated in the final phase representing 15 cooperative schools throughout the country, has been to promote the entrepreneurial culture among schoolchildren, sharing the principles and values ​​that identify the Spanish social economy, and give visibility and recognition to the projects being developed by teaching cooperatives to boost entrepreneurship.
The jury has been constituted by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Social Security, CNMV, Complutense University of Madrid, UCETAM, UECoE and Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar.
In the evaluation they have taken into account, among others, the originality, the viability of the project, the capacity of implantation in other provinces and the cooperation with other companies.
In this sense, in addition to the three winners, the members of the jury agreed to grant a Special Mention to four other projects for their quality, educational value, originality and social, environmental and economic sustainability.
These are "Zeus" of the Valle del Miro School (Valdemoro Madrid), "Rutas LM" of the GSD Guadarrama School (Madrid), "Creaimpress" of the Reina Sofía School ( Totana ) and "Insectoplus" of the CES S. Ramón y Cajal Tear, S.Coop.
