The mayor of Totana transmits his condolences and condolences on behalf of the Municipal Corporation to the Beloved Son of the City of Totana, Ginés Rosa, who died this morning (18/01/2019)

Since then, Rosa gave name to the aforementioned cultural venue, precisely, in compliance with a plenary agreement that was agreed in February of that same year at the initiative of the Mayor's Office.

The City Council of Totana wanted to recognize, with this award, its connection with the field of culture and history of Totana.

The mayor regretted his loss and today highlighted his commitment to local culture by publishing numerous books and research on the history of Totana;

and he highlighted his attitude and commitment to the local cultural heritage, giving in recent times numerous and valuable documents to the Historical Archive of Totana.

Similarly, Andrés García highlighted the support and promotion given by Ginés Rosa in his day to totanera handicrafts from his positions as director of the Institute of Development of the Region of Murcia and as general director of Tourism of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, which allowed the opening of doors and the promotion of business in sector fairs, both national and international.

In addition, since he permanently established his residence in Murcia in 1984, he showed repeated signs of being a tireless worker in the investigation and dissemination of the history and culture of Totana;

effort that had been expressed in the publication of a dozen books on this municipality, as well as more than 40 articles for the publications of Holy Week and Cuadernos de La Santa.

Similarly, recently the bibliographic and documentary heritage of Totana had been considerably enriched thanks to the generosity and affection it feels for its people.

The writer totanero delivered to the City Council in May 2016 a series of medieval documents and others from the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, a total of 17, all of great historical and documentary value, for the study and investigation of the history of Totana and that are in good condition.

For a few years he lived in Totana and lately he was working on the publication of his latest work on the recently restored Fuente Juan de Uzeta, located in the Plaza de la Consitución, next to the parish of Santiago El Mayor.

Ginés Rosa López (Totana, 1942), graduated in Philosophy and Letters from the University of the Balearic Islands and in History from the University of Murcia, was a scholar of the history, popular themes and customs of this municipality, which allowed her to edit many articles of great scientific rigor and books related to local issues.
