The City Council of Totana and Soltec Energías Renovables, SL subscribe a collaboration agreement to employ people with intellectual disabilities in both day centers (04/12/2018)

Totana City Council today signed a collaboration agreement with Soltec Energías Renovables, SL, manufacturer and supplier of solar trackers, which will promote the professional and personal development of users of the Day Center for People with Mental Illness "Princess Letizia" and the Day Center for People with Intellectual Disabilities "José Moyá", respectively.

The agreement, signed by the mayor of Totana, Andrés García Cánovas, by the regional director of Soltec in Spain, Luis Hernández, will allow users of this center to receive technical training for the pre-assembly of the screws that will later be used in the construction of the 84.7 MW photovoltaic project from Soltec.

The main objective of the agreement is to promote the professional and personal development of the users of both centers through the collaboration projected with this company, consisting of the pre-assembly of screws for the local photovoltaic solar project, following in any case the guidelines of the company.

According to the conditions set out in this agreement, the company undertakes to pay in kind an economic compensation, depending on the needs of both day centers and that may eventually agree on the parties, at a rate of 8 euros / box of pre-assembled fasteners .

The event was also attended by the first deputy mayor and councilor for Industry and Economic Development, Juan José Cánovas, the councilor for Social Welfare, Javier Baños, and the director of Soltec Human Resources, Luis Corrales, as well as users and professionals of the Totana day centers.

In total, 2,900 units of the photovoltaic tracker will be installed in the plant on an SF7 axis that will take advantage of the high solar radiation in the area.

Once in operation, the photovoltaic plant will prevent the emission into the atmosphere of 63,000 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to that produced by 15,000 vehicles.
